On Sunday 6th October, an inter-club training session organised by Lorena Garcia was held between Gibraltar Taekwondo and Lemus Han, renowned for their experienced players who compete regularly. The main objectives were to expose our players to different training styles, build confidence, and foster relationships with other practitioners. The event also attracted around 100 spectators who came to support.
A total of 65 players participated, divided into two age groups for tailored training: children up to 11 years on one mat and those aged 12 and over on another.
- Young Players (Up to 11 Years):
Led by Antonio Torres, Ernest Garcia, and Edward Garcia, this group engaged in age-appropriate drills and sparring sessions that emphasised fundamentals and confidence-building exercises.
- Older Players (12 Years and Over):
This mat was run by Daniel Torres, a former Spanish champion, European champion, and bronze medallist at the World Championships, who has extensive experience with the Spanish national team. The training included advanced techniques, sparring practice, and tactical discussions aimed at enhancing skills and competitive readiness.
The inter-club training session was successful in meeting its goals of skill development, confidence building, and relationship enhancement. Participants left feeling motivated and eager for future collaborations.
Special thanks to Antonio and Dani and the whole Lemus Han club for making this event a rewarding experience for all participants.
