It was a pleasure to attend The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gibraltar Ceremony yesterday evening at The Convent. The scheme encourages young people to learn new skills, volunteer within the community, and take part in outdoor adventures. It is available in over 130 countries and has three levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each award has four different sections; service, skills, physical recreation and adventurous journey.
We are extremely proud of Eve Cruz, one of our members, for achieving her Bronze Award. Eve volunteered in Father Charlie’s Soup Kitchen (Service), developed her drumming skills (Skill) and continued her participation in Taekwondo (Physical Recreation), throughout the six months duration period.
We would like to congratulate Eve and all other award recipients.
