We are incredibly proud to announce that £1,460.00 has been raised in support of GBC Open Day.
In total, over 60 different people have taken part in our weekly TKD Fitness sessions throughout the year, led by our club coach Lorena. Through your £10 per month donations, we’ve been able to raise an amazing £1,460.00, with every penny going directly towards the GBC Open Day.
Held on December 11th, the GBC Open Day is a special day when the entire community comes together to raise money for local charities, supporting vital causes across Gibraltar. It’s a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when everyone pulls together for the greater good.
What is TKD Fitness?
Our TKD Fitness classes are high energy, full body workouts designed to challenge all fitness levels while incorporating elements of Taekwondo training.
The first part of the session focuses on circuit training, rotating through a variety of exercises. These include Taekwondo related movements, alongside strength and conditioning exercises, such as resistance work, body weight exercises, and free weight exercises. This section is designed to build endurance, coordination, strength, and overall fitness.
The second part of the class turns up the intensity with pad work, followed by a high energy finisher that pushes participants to their limits, encouraging everyone to dig deep and finish strong.
These classes are not only about improving fitness. They’re about challenging yourself, having fun, and training together as a community, regardless of experience level.
At Gibraltar Taekwondo, we believe our role goes beyond training and competition. We are committed to giving back to the community, supporting local initiatives, and using sport as a way to create positive change. This fundraiser is just one of the ways we aim to make a real and meaningful impact.
On Thursday, Lorena and Ornella visited the GBC studios to officially hand over the “cheque” and proudly represent everyone who contributed. They appeared live on TV, helping spread the message of community, charity, and giving back.
A massive thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and supported this initiative. Your energy, commitment, and generosity truly make a difference. Together, we’re proving that Gibraltar Taekwondo is about more than sport, it’s about community.
