22ND STRAIT GAMES HELD IN ALGECIRAS

The Gibraltar Taekwondo Team participated at the Straits Games held in Algeciras. Gibraltar was represented by a team of over 170 athletes, coaches and delegates.

A total of 2000 sports people were involved in these games. A whole wide variety of sports, 13 in total, including athletics, basketball, tennis, beach volleyball among them.

The Taekwondo event consisted of Poomsae (Patterns), Kyorugi (Sparring) and an Exhibition demonstrating self-defence and breakings. We would like to congratulate the Gibraltar Taekwondo Team (Leland, Nicole, Aeden, Gaby, Tommy, Nathalie, Jake, Miki, Mason, Malak, Ethan and Duncan) for their outstanding performance.

A huge thank you to Master Edward Garcia and Miss Lorena Garcia (4th Dan) for accompanying the team on the day, and to Master Ernest Garcia for putting in extra hours to better prepare the team.
